So, it's Friday night, well it doesn't even have to be a Friday for most of us to want a drink before hitting a club. In that case just say that we are totally up for having a mad night and what better way to start it than by getting a bottle! Well that's if you're a poor student like me and you can't afford to spend a hundred quid in the club when you get there. Hey but if you can, than that's just as good!
It's fair to say that the majority of us will start off with a few shots to get us warmed up before getting the double vodka redbull's in. Half an hour later depending on the rate of your drinking you will have obtained the desired effect, which is where you're laughing your head off at everyone and everything.
Here is where i spoil the fun and become more serious and sensible. It is highly important to know the recommended units of alcohol per person per day. This is three to four units for men and two to three units for women per day. What's more the British Medical Assosciation recommends 21 units a week for men and 14 units a week for women. Now unless you're on a calorie controlled diet it's more than likely you haven't got a clue about alcohol in units, but let's face it we have to know what we are downing in today's day and age. To help you i have provided an example to give you an idea of how to measure.
* 1 Single shot (25ml) of a spirit is about 0.9 - 1 units
* 1 Double shot (70ml) of a spirit is about 2.6 - 2.8 units
* Half a pint of average strength beer is 1 unit
